Acerca del evento
Francis Bacon's story of "From the Gutter to the Ritz", is dramatically told by Frank Woodgate, a captivating presenter.
Bacon was an Irish-born British figurative painter known for his raw, unsettling imagery. Focused on the human form, his subjects include crucifixions, portraits of popes, self-portraits, with abstract figures sometimes isolated in geometrical structures. Bacon was charismatic, articulate, and well-read. He was a bon vivant, eating, drinking and gambling with friends such as Lucien Freud. Since his death in 1992, his work is among the most acclaimed and expensive on the art market.
